Overview

Have you ever wondered if you could see all the truly worthwhile sights in Hokkaido if you only had 2 days? This itinerary is the answer. Starting from Sapporo, head south, traversing the natural and urban essence of Hokkaido: lakes, volcanoes, nightscapes, ports, seafood. It's not a fleeting glance, but a step-by-step journey to clearly see "the soul of Hokkaido." Day 1 Depart from Sapporo in the morning to begin a classic journey that spans the north and south of Hokkaido. First, arrive at the [Lake Toya Sairo Observatory] to overlook the magnificent panoramic view of the volcanic lake – the water is like a mirror, surrounded by mountains, and the scenery changes with the seasons, making it one of Hokkaido's most representative natural landscapes. Then, head to the [Showa Shinzan Bear Ranch] to observe the real living conditions of Hokkaido brown bears up close. The adorable yet powerful bear population adds a touch of fun and awe to the trip. Continue south to Hakodate city to visit [Goryokaku Park], Japan's only star-shaped Western-style fortress. Viewed from above, the five-pointed star outline is visually striking, a perfect blend of history and architectural art. In the evening, ascend [Mount Hakodate] to admire the dazzling night view, known as "one of the world's top three night views" – the lights extend along both sides of the harbor, like a cascading Milky Way, making it Hokkaido's most romantic moment. Stay overnight at a hotel near Hakodate Station, enjoying convenient transportation and the tranquility and charm of the port city at night. Day 2 In the morning, stroll through [Hakodate Morning Market], where a dazzling array of fresh seafood awaits. We recommend trying a luxurious seafood donburi to start your day with a sense of ceremony. Then, head to the [Kanemori Red Brick Warehouses] to experience the blend of retro and fashion in the port city, with cafes and unique shops lining the streets, making it an excellent spot for photos and shopping. Stroll around [Motomachi Park], where European-style churches and sloped streets intertwine, creating a strong exotic atmosphere, with every step offering a scenic view. Make a special stop at Hakodate's popular gourmet spot – [Lucky Pierrot Main Store], to experience Hokkaido's exclusive "soul burger," with its unique flavor, beloved by locals and tourists alike. In the afternoon, head north to Noboribetsu to explore the awe-inspiring [Noboribetsu Jigokudani (Hell Valley)]. White smoke billows and sulfur fills the air, as if the earth is breathing, making it one of Hokkaido's most representative volcanic landform wonders. Return to Sapporo in the evening, concluding this unforgettable journey that combines natural wonders and urban charm.
