Overview

This 2-hour guided Segway tour takes place in Huntington Beach State Park in Myrtle Beach. The tour begins with a brief Segway training session to familiarize riders with the equipment. Participants then follow a guide through the park in a small group, using provided Segways and helmets. The route includes a visit to the Environmental Education Center, where riders can observe Loggerhead Turtles and other endangered wildlife. Along the freshwater lake by the causeway, the guide points out alligators basking in the sun, various bird species, and sometimes minks. Huntington Beach State Park served as the winter home of sculptress Anna Hyatt and philanthropist Archer Huntington. Visitors may choose to tour Atalaya, their Moorish-style castle residence and studio, on their own before or after the Segway tour; this requires a separate park admission fee. The tour allows time to enjoy the nearby beach before or after riding. Photos and videos are taken using participants’ phones during the tour. The tour lasts approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours, including training.
