by Silva Surf School
This 2-hour surf lesson takes place in the waves of Puerto Escondido, Mexico. The session begins on the beach with an introduction to the surfboard and equipment, including a leash and rashguard. The instructor adjusts the lesson to match each participant's skill level to maintain comfort and safety in the water. The exact location of the lesson changes daily based on wave size and conditions, and participants receive this information before the class starts. All necessary surf gear is provided. Optional GoPro and drone footage can be added for an additional cost but are not included in the basic lesson.
Lesson Introduction and Practice
The lesson begins with a thorough overview of water safety and surfing theory. Participants practice their pop-up technique before entering the water. The instructor adjusts the lesson based on skill level: beginners receive assistance to catch waves, while intermediate surfers get coaching to surf independently. There is also an option to stay at Casa Silva, a surf house for students, if accommodation is desired.
