This 3-day hiking safari in Uganda centers on trekking mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. The tour includes a permit to see the gorillas and offers one of the rare opportunities to observe these animals in the wild. Over the course of 72 hours, participants stay two nights with meals provided, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi is part of the itinerary, along with a visit to the Batwa community. Transport is arranged in a 4x4 vehicle, and an English-speaking safari guide leads the group. Drinking water is supplied during travel.
Entebbe to Bwindi Drive
After arrival at Entebbe International Airport (EBB), a Dav Safaris staff member will meet and brief the group. The drive to Bwindi takes about 7 hours with a lunch break along the way. The route crosses areas of savannah, tropical rain forest, and the terraced hills of Kigezi, which are often called the Switzerland of East Africa. Upon arrival in Bwindi, guests check into the lodge and then visit the Batwa community to experience the culture of these forest pygmies. The rest of the day is free to rest before the following day's activities. Included meals are lunch and dinner.

Gorilla Trekking Briefing and Hike
After an early breakfast and with a picnic lunch, there is a short drive to the park offices for a briefing where local guides and trackers provide information on gorilla trekking etiquette. The group then hikes into the forest to a location where gorillas were seen the previous night. Trekking can last between 1 and 6 hours depending on the gorilla family’s location and the altitude, which exceeds 7500 feet.
