by Absolute Adventure Mexico
This private tour starts with a pickup from the hotel or Airbnb in Playa del Carmen by an air-conditioned minivan. After a 45-minute drive, the group arrives at Akumal Beach for one hour of snorkeling to encounter sea turtles. The snorkeling is done from the shore in calm waters within a protected bay. A certified private guide assists throughout the swim, which may also include sightings of stingrays and various colorful fish. After snorkeling at Akumal, the tour continues to one of three cenotes selected by the guest: Jaguar, Nicte Ha, or Taak Bi Ha. Cenote Jaguar is an open-air cenote offering options for cliff jumping and ziplining. Cenote Nicte Ha is also open-air and suited for relaxation. Cenote Taak Bi Ha is a cave cenote featuring an underground river. Guests spend about one hour swimming and snorkeling in their chosen cenote with the guide. The final stop is a local Mexican restaurant near the cenotes, where guests receive one a la carte meal for lunch, including dishes such as tacos and empanadas. Water and sodas are provided in a cooler on the van throughout the tour. After lunch, the guide returns guests to their hotel or Airbnb. The entire tour lasts about five to six hours and includes snorkeling gear with life vests, all cooperative and entrance fees, taxes, and a dedicated private guide. Swimming skills are required, and children under three years old are not allowed on this tour.
