Overview

This small-group walking tour lasts about 3 hours and begins with a visit to the Generalife, where participants walk around the palace and gardens while learning about the Alhambra's restored gravity irrigation system that keeps the gardens green. Next, the tour continues to the Medina area of the Alhambra, including stops at the Palace of Carlos V, Parador, and Santa Maria de la Alhambra, all of which have free admission. This section gives an idea of how people lived in the fortified city during the Nasrid era. The group then moves to the Alcazaba, a military fortress and one of the oldest buildings in the complex. The tour ends with a visit to the Nasrid Palaces, which include the Comares, Mexuar, and Lions palaces. The tour includes admission fees, a guide speaking the selected language, and headphones for listening, but does not provide hotel pickup or gratuities.
