Overview

This 8- to 9-hour bus tour from Naples highlights the Amalfi Coast’s main towns with stops in Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello. The trip begins with a drive through the Sorrentine Peninsula, offering views of the Gulf of Naples. The group stops first in Positano where there is about 90 minutes of free time to explore the cliffside village, its pebble beach, narrow streets, and the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, which features a colorful maiolica-tiled dome and a Byzantine icon of the Virgin Mary. From Positano, a boat ride along the coast takes approximately 25 minutes to reach Amalfi (seasonal and weather dependent). In Amalfi, guests have two hours to visit the town’s historic center, including the Amalfi Cathedral (Duomo di Sant'Andrea), known for its Byzantine and northern architectural influences. The guide can assist with entrance tickets to the Cathedral. There is time to try local pastries or relax by the beach. The tour continues by bus to Ravello, where there is an hour of free time to walk the narrow streets, relax in the main square, and visit Villa Rufolo. The villa inspired composer Richard Wagner and offers views over the sea from its terrace. The guide can help with tickets to Villa Rufolo. After Ravello, the group returns by coach to Naples. The tour includes round-trip air-conditioned transport, local guide commentary for larger groups, and seasonal boat transfer between Positano and Amalfi. From November to March, the tour includes a visit to the Arsenal of the Amalfi Republic instead of the boat ride.
