Overview

This 12-hour hiking tour takes place in the Cajón del Maipo area of the Andes, located about 100 kilometers (62 miles) from Santiago, Chile. The tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off. Participants hike approximately 8 kilometers (5 miles) to reach a volcano at 5,800 meters (19,000 feet) altitude. Along the route, hikers see mountain rivers, glaciers, and views of the Andes mountains. A bilingual guide provides explanations about the geological features and the formation of the South American continent. The tour includes bottled water, a glass of wine, a gourmet sandwich, a snack, and travel insurance. Gratuities and pickups from private residences are not included. Vegetarian and other dietary options are available if requested at booking. Participants should bring sunscreen, trekking shoes, a daypack, a camera, a warm jacket, and a sun hat. Passport details including full name, country, and date of birth are required when booking. The tour requires a minimum number of participants and may be canceled with at least 48 hours' notice if the minimum is not met; in that case, an alternative or full refund will be offered.
