This full-day bus tour follows the historic Apache Trail, starting just minutes from Phoenix. You will drive along Arizona’s first designated Historic Highway, passing the Superstition Mountains and learning about the region’s history and landscape. The tour includes stops at Goldfield Ghost Town, where you can try gold panning and see original mining equipment, and Tortilla Flat, a small stage stop known for its old-style architecture and bar. A major part of the day is a 1.5-hour narrated cruise on Canyon Lake aboard the Dolly Steamboat. Apache Trail Scenic Drive

The tour begins with a drive along the Apache Trail, Arizona’s first designated Historic Highway. Originally a footpath used by the Apache Tribe, the route crosses the Sonoran Desert and passes through the Superstition Mountains. This drive takes about two hours and showcases the desert landscape and natural features of the region.

As you travel along the Apache Trail, the Superstition Mountains appear prominently. These desert mountains are known for their rugged terrain and are visible from multiple points during the drive.
