Safety equipment and procedures are regularly checked. The canopy tour includes several platforms where guests can observe the surrounding tree canopies and different ecosystems. The tour features a Tarzan Swing, which guests can use during the experience. Included are hotel pickup and drop-off, bottled water, fresh fruit, and the guidance of expert instructors. Photography services are available for purchase. The minimum age to join is six years.
Arenal Canopy Zipline Park
The experience starts with a 30-minute drive from La Fortuna to the zipline park. Guides help guests put on gear and give a safety briefing. The first platform stands 25 meters (80 ft.) high, beginning a route of 8 cables spanning 2 km (1.2 miles) through the rainforest. The course includes 13 platforms, 4 of which are anchored to large trees using a system that does not damage them. Cable lengths vary between 70 m. (230 ft.) and 600 m. (1970 ft.), while their heights range from 20 m. (65 ft.) up to 90 m. (300 ft.). This setup enables speeds reaching 56 kph (35 mph). Each cable features unique measurements and offers views over canyons, mountains, farmlands, and rainforest.
