Overview

This 4-hour bus tour explores Aruba’s countryside at a relaxed pace with air-conditioned comfort. The tour includes stops at the California Lighthouse, Alto Vista Chapel, Casibari Rock Formations, Aruba Aloe Factory, Bushiribana Ruins, and a drive through the capital city, Oranjestad. A local guide shares information about Aruba’s history and culture during the trip. At California Lighthouse, visitors view the tallest structure on the island, built between 1914 and 1916 to prevent shipwrecks after the sinking of the steamship S.S. California in 1891. The tour continues to Alto Vista Chapel, a small Catholic chapel rebuilt in 1952 on the site of the original 1750 chapel. Along the way, the bus passes authentic Aruban houses in Oranjestad. At Casibari, participants see large tonalite rock formations with trails and steps to reach scenic viewpoints. The Aloe Factory stop includes a 30-minute visit to the world’s oldest aloe factory where the uses and benefits of the local aloe plant are explained. The Bushiribana Ruins, former gold smelting facilities built in 1872, illustrate Aruba’s 19th-century gold mining history. Bottled water is provided, and hotel or port pickup and drop-off are included. Lunch is not provided on this tour.
