Overview

This full-day coach tour lasts about 12 and a half hours, starting from Rome with a pick-up meeting point. The group travels north, following the River Tiber toward Tuscany, and reaches Orvieto after around 1.5 hours. Here, there is time to walk around the historic town, including a visit to the 14th-century Orvieto Cathedral, known for its Gothic style and decorated façade with stained glass, mosaics, and sculptures. You can also see various churches scattered throughout the town center. Next, the coach moves on to Castiglione del Lago for a typical lunch near Lake Trasimeno. After lunch, the tour continues through the rolling hills of Umbria to reach Assisi, a UNESCO World Heritage site. In Assisi, the visit includes the Basilica of Saint Clare, which houses the remains of Saint Clare of Assisi, and the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, where the body of San Carlo Acutis is located. The final stop is the Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi. This mother church of the Roman Catholic Order of Friars Minor Conventual consists of two churches and a crypt built into a hillside. It holds the remains of Saint Francis, who was born and died in Assisi. The tour includes a guide, lunch, and transportation by an air-conditioned coach that accommodates up to 50 people. Drinks during lunch and gratuities are not included, and there is no pick-up or drop-off service provided.
