Overview

This family-friendly rafting run takes place on the Athabasca River in Jasper, starting at the base of Athabasca Falls. The trip lasts about three and a half hours and includes navigating several Class II plus rapids within Athabasca Canyon, where steep canyon walls surround the river. After passing through the canyon section, the river widens, offering wide views of the Athabasca Valley. The rafting run is guided by a certified river guide and is suitable for families and beginners. All necessary technical equipment is provided, including wetsuits, spray jackets, neoprene booties, and life jackets. Return transfers between the downtown meeting point and the river are included. Food, drinks, gratuities, and souvenir photos are not included. Participants should wear a swimsuit under their clothes and bring warm clothing for after the trip. Children must be at least five years old and those under eighteen must be accompanied by an adult. The trip operates in all weather conditions, and participants are advised to bring a fleece or wool jacket on cooler days. Parking is available across from the Shell Gas station on Connaught Drive. Departure times are in Alberta Mountain Standard Time. Service dogs with valid paperwork are allowed, but pets are not.
