Overview

"Udon Making," a time-honored traditional form of hospitality, is a popular experience. In a retro-style folk house surrounded by greenery, knead the dough with your feet, flatten it with a rolling pin, and cut it to your preferred thickness. Once finished, enjoy the freshly cooked udon on the spot with tempura made from pesticide-free seasonal vegetables. You are free to choose the seasoning for the broth and the combination of toppings. Enjoy the warmth and deliciousness of the countryside in a relaxed environment. All ingredients are plant-based, so vegetarians can enjoy it with peace of mind.

Highlights

At Maruen, you will personally experience the traditional udon noodle making process, from kneading the dough with force, to rolling it out and cutting it, feeling the charm of each step of the craft. The completed udon noodles will be paired with fresh, pesticide-free seasonal vegetable tempura, which is both healthy and delicious. Every bite is a respect for and enjoyment of the natural taste.
Maruen is located in a well-preserved Showa-style traditional house, surrounded by lush greenery and seasonal natural scenery. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you can deeply feel the strong rural atmosphere and the charm of traditional culture in a peaceful and relaxing environment, as if traveling through time, enjoying a moment of mental relaxation and return.
