Avery Island in Louisiana is the home of TABASCO® Sauce, produced by the McIlhenny family for more than five generations. The island sits on a salt dome where red peppers are grown, the factory operates, and Jungle Gardens hosts local wildlife. This self-guided visit lasts about two hours and includes two main parts. First is the TABASCO® Factory tour with 10 stops explaining the sauce-making process from seed to bottle. Visitors see the museum, a greenhouse replica, the pepper mash warehouse, blending area, salt mine replica, bottling line, and more. The tour ends with tastings at the TABASCO® Country Store sample bar and a chance to try Cajun dishes and drinks at Restaurant 1868. The second part is a 14-stop tour of Jungle Gardens, a 3-mile loop through a 170-acre wildlife and botanical garden. Guests can walk, bike, drive, or hike the path, stopping to view giant oak trees, alligators, a boat house, Venetian Gardens, Buddha temple, Bird City, and several plant collections. An audio guide is available only for the Jungle Gardens portion. Snacks are included, but private transportation is not provided.

Jungle Gardens offers a 14-stop tour along a 3-mile loop that visitors can walk, bike, hike, or drive. Points of interest include giant oak trees, Bayou Petit Anse and marsh trail, alligator habitats, a boat house, Venetian Gardens, the Cleveland Oak, Holly Hedge, Buddha temple, Wisteria Arch, Palm Gardens, Bird City, timber bamboo, sunken gardens, and the Camellia Nursery.
