The tour includes a one-way vehicle shuttle and a professional guide who provides information during the trip. The total duration of the activity is about four hours. Riders use provided e-Bikes and helmets, then hike in Johnston Canyon, one of Banff's most visited natural sites. The tour requires participants to be at least 16 years old and at least 5 feet tall, and to wear closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Comfort and ability in riding a bike are necessary to join this program.
Banff e-Bike and Hike Route
Participants ride their own e-bike with a guide through Vermilion Lakes and the shaded Legacy Trail bike path. The route continues along the Bow Valley Parkway section closed to vehicles in June and September, heading to Johnston Canyon. A guided walk leads to the Lower Falls Bridge before returning by shuttle to Banff. The Bow Valley Parkway allows vehicle traffic in May, July, August, and October at speeds up to 60 km/h, with cyclists using the wide shoulders. Activity level is moderate, covering 26 km biking and 3 km walking over approximately 4 hours.
