Book on Viator Confirmed right away, but you pay full price.€43.80This walking tour begins at Plaza de Catalunya, one of Spain's largest squares covering 30,000 square meters. From there, the group follows Las Ramblas, a famous street lined with flower and souvenir stalls leading to the old port by the sea. The tour continues to a historic fountain that once marked an entrance to the walled city, now decorated with ceramics depicting 18th-century Barcelona life. Participants then walk under a well-photographed Gothic Quarter arch, learning its history and taking photos. Next, the route reaches the main political and administrative hub of Barcelona, where the town hall and Palau de la Generalitat stand. This plaza was once the intersection of the Roman city’s two main roads, the Cardo and the Decumanus. The tour spends about half an hour at the Barcelona Cathedral, which is Gothic in style and built over earlier Christian and Romanesque religious buildings. Entrance to the cathedral is not included in the price. For those who select the tapas option, the tour finishes with a visit to a local bar where a drink and two pintxos are served. After the tasting, guests can remain at the bar as long as they like. The entire tour lasts about three hours and is led by a local guide speaking Spanish and English.
