Overview

The tour starts with a walk through the Gothic Quarter, the oldest section of Barcelona, where travelers see Roman ruins, medieval churches, narrow streets, courtyards, and squares including the Barcelona Cathedral. After about 30 minutes exploring these historic streets, the group continues along Las Ramblas, the city’s most famous street lined with markets, bars, and restaurants, stopping briefly for about 2 minutes. Next, the tour visits the Catedral de Barcelona, a medieval Gothic-style church located in the heart of the old town, with a stop lasting around 3 minutes. The guide then leads to Placa Sant Felip Neri, a small, quiet square hidden within the Old Town, where visitors spend about 5 minutes. Following this, the group arrives at Placa Reial, a large arcade-lined square featuring restaurants and palm trees, known for its nightlife, with a 5-minute pause. The tour proceeds to view Gaudí’s Casa Batlló from the outside for about 10 minutes, a building known for its fairy-tale and surreal architectural style. Then the group moves on to La Pedrera - Casa Milà, Gaudí’s largest private residence, also viewed externally for 5 minutes. The final long stop is on Passeig de Gracia for 45 minutes, where the guide points out various examples of Modernist architecture, including decorative houses, lampposts, and tiles. Before concluding, the tour includes a 5-minute stop at Casa Amatller, a Modernist house by Puig i Cadafalch located next to Casa Batlló. The entire walking tour lasts about 2 hours and 15 minutes and is led by a professional guide. Included are walking tours of the Old Town and the main Gaudí buildings’ exteriors. Monuments tickets, gratuities, and a radio headset rental are not included. A short metro ride may be part of the tour, and visitors must bring their own ticket or obtain one from the guide.
