Overview

This beginner surf lesson takes place in Newquay, Cornwall, and lasts about two hours, with a total time of approximately three hours from arrival to departure. Participants meet at the Newquay Surf School, located at the Newquay Activity Centre. The lesson begins with getting suited up in warm Rip Curl wetsuits and ID vests in heated changing rooms. There are safety lockers available for storing clothes and valuables. The instructor-to-student ratio is one to eight, allowing for personal feedback during the lesson. The session starts with a safety briefing on the beach, followed by practical instruction on stand-up surfing techniques using stable Swell foam surfboards. The lesson is held at either Great Western Beach or Fistral Beach, depending on conditions. Showers are available after the lesson. All surfing equipment, insurance, and a qualified surf instructor are included. The lesson is suitable for children over eight years old and requires reasonable weather conditions; if the lesson is canceled due to weather, alternatives or rescheduling options are offered.
