It begins with a 30-minute visit to Tiananmen Square, built in 1415 and one of the largest squares in the world, covering over 40 hectares. The square serves as the main entrance to the Forbidden City and reflects the influence of communism in modern China. Next, the tour proceeds to the Forbidden City, also called the Palace Museum, constructed in 1406 as the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Visitors spend about two hours exploring its 180 acres and numerous halls containing antiques and artifacts from China’s history. The final stop is the Badaling section of the Great Wall, one of the best-preserved parts of this 2,000-year-old structure.
