Overview

This full-day bus tour lasts about 8 hours and starts with a scenic drive along Jamaica’s north coast to the Blue Hole and Secret Falls near Ocho Rios. At the Blue Hole, you can swim, jump, and swing on ropes into the natural mineral pool surrounded by rainforest. After about 90 minutes there, a short walk leads to Secret Falls, where you can stand under the cascades and take photos. Next, the tour continues to Dunn's River Falls. Here, you join a guided climb up the 600-foot terraced waterfalls in a human chain, stopping at natural pools and the 'massage parlour' where water cascades offer a soothing effect. The climb and park time last about 90 minutes and include exit points if you wish to stop early. Transportation is provided in an air-conditioned vehicle with hotel pickup and drop-off in Montego Bay. There is a brief stop at Columbus Park for photos before arriving at the Blue Hole. The tour includes admission and skip-the-line tickets for all attractions and a professional guide. Lunch is not included but there is a stop at a local jerk chicken restaurant where you may purchase your own meal. Gratuities and souvenir photos or DVDs are not covered. The guide will share information about landmarks like Rose Hall Great House and Greenwood Great House as you pass by, with opportunities for photos but no stops at these locations.

2

Dunn's River Falls and Park

At Dunn's River Falls, guests climb the 600-foot (183-meter) terraced waterfall in a human chain led by experienced Falls Guides. The climb begins at the beach, guided by a resident guide, and takes approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Along the way, there are pools for photos and breaks, including the 'massage parlour' where cascading water provides a soothing effect. Exit points are available for those who want to stop early, with the group reuniting at the finish. Those not climbing can observe from terraces or decks.

3

Rose Hall Great House

While traveling, the guide slows down for a photo opportunity at Rose Hall Great House, an 18th-century plantation home in Montego Bay. Known for its former owner Annie Palmer and stories of haunting following her death in 1831, the house sits on elevated land overlooking thousands of acres. No stop is made here, only a drive-by with historical commentary.

4

Greenwood Great House

The tour passes by Greenwood Great House, another early 18th-century plantation home built at high elevation. Unlike Rose Hall, this house is known for a peaceful atmosphere and notable architecture. The guide provides history while slowing down for photos. There is no stop at this house.

5

Columbus Park Museum

A brief stop is made at Columbus Park in the town of Discovery Bay, originally named Puerto Seco by Christopher Columbus in 1494 when he landed on the island. Columbus and his men could not find fresh water there, but found it about 5 miles west at Rio Bueno. The town was renamed Discovery Bay in 1947, marking where the Spanish landed on May 4, 1494. The park contains several old relics and artifacts but is temporarily closed for renovations. Guests can take photos and learn about the area's history during this short stop.

5 min

6

Ocho Rios

The tour passes through Ocho Rios, a resort area known for caves, gardens, rivers, and white sand beaches. The town's name means 'eight rivers,' reflecting its many waterfalls including Dunn's River, Blue Hole, and Secret Falls. The guide shares information about the area's natural features and attractions.

7

Runaway Bay

The route includes a drive through Runaway Bay, a scenic town between coastline and green mountains. Stories about the town's name include escapes by Spanish soldiers or plantation slaves. The guide offers commentary while guests view the landscape and take photos.
