Overview

This small-group wildlife tour from Sydney lasts about 10 hours and travels a full loop through the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains National Park. The tour uses a luxury air-conditioned vehicle with leather reclining seats and carries no more than 14 people. You start with a visit to Calmsley Hill City Farm, Sydney's oldest working farm, where you have morning tea and can see native animals including koalas, wombats, emus, and kangaroos. There is an opportunity to take photos and feed some of the animals. Next, the tour heads into the Blue Mountains National Park to visit several lookouts that are less crowded and accessible only by small buses. These include canyons, valleys, and unusual rock formations, with some stops offering short walks. You then stop at a viewpoint for the Three Sisters rock formation, where the guide explains its Aboriginal legend. If you choose the lunch option, you have a two-course meal with one non-alcoholic drink at the Boilerhouse Restaurant, which has floor-to-ceiling windows and views over the Megalong Valley. The menu changes seasonally and includes options for various diets. If lunch is not selected, there is a small cafe nearby where you can buy food at your own cost. After lunch, the tour visits a lookout featuring a waterfall that drops 180 meters into the valley below. On the return trip, the group stops at Australia's highest botanical gardens, where you can walk among cool climate plants from Australia and around the world. Time permitting, the tour will also visit a remote lookout before heading back. Hotel pickup and drop-off are available from selected hotels. A driver/guide provides live commentary throughout the day.
