This 4-hour walking food tour in Bologna is led by a local guide and limited to a maximum of 10 participants. The tour starts at Piazza Maggiore, where you meet your guide and group before exploring the city on foot. You’ll visit Mercato delle Erbe, one of Bologna’s authentic food markets, and spend about half an hour walking among the stalls and stopping at a pasta workshop to watch local women making fresh pasta. Next, the tour continues to the Quadrilatero area, the culinary heart of Bologna, where you will spend around an hour visiting traditional spots often missed by tourists. Here you will taste several local specialties including mortadella, pignoletto wine, and memorable fresh pasta dishes. The final stop is Piazza Santo Stefano, where you will have about 20 minutes to enjoy gelato, including pistachio flavor. Along the way, the tour includes visits to two food markets and stops at four to six local establishments. You will taste over eight authentic Bolognese dishes such as Mortadella, Prosciutto, and Parmigiano, accompanied by alcoholic beverages. A small gift is also included to help you enjoy the rest of your time in Bologna.
