Overview

This eight-hour tour combines a four-hour 4WD island drive in Bora Bora with an afternoon boat cruise around the lagoon. The day starts with pickup from Vaitape Pier or a Bora Bora hotel, followed by a 4WD trip circling about 20 miles of the island. The guide stops at scenic viewpoints including East Matira lookout over the lagoon and Faanui Canon lookout, where World War II canons remain. The tour continues to a small workshop in Faanui Valley to see how tie-dye sarongs and coconut oil are made, then visits a plantation for tropical fruit tasting. After the 4WD portion, there is a 90-minute lunch break at a local restaurant of your choice. In the afternoon, participants board a boat for a lagoon cruise. The captain first takes the group to a shallow area with many stingrays where snorkel gear is provided to swim with these animals or observe from the boat. Next, the boat moves to a site with black-tip reef sharks visible near the surface. The final stop is a coral garden where guests can snorkel among colorful fish and coral formations. At the end of the day, the guide returns guests to their hotel. Snorkel equipment (except fins), lunch, and hotel or port pickup and drop-off are included.
