Overview

This full-day tour from Denver lasts about 8 to 9 hours and includes transport in an air-conditioned van with a professional driver and guide. The tour begins at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre, where visitors spend around 40 minutes exploring the large rock formations, walking through the amphitheater, visiting the Visitor Center to learn about the geology and history, and stopping at the Trading Post, home of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. The tour then drives through Clear Creek Canyon for about 15 minutes, where guests can look for Bighorn sheep on the steep canyon walls and see mountain climbers. Next is a 30-minute stop in historic Georgetown to view buildings from the 1860s silver mining era listed on the National Historic Registry. After Georgetown, the tour crosses the Continental Divide at Loveland Pass, reaching an elevation of nearly 12,000 feet (3,657 meters). There is a 20-minute walk above the treeline to take in panoramic mountain views. The group then visits Sapphire Point Overlook for about 35 minutes, walking a trail with views of Lake Dillon and the Ten Mile and Gore mountain ranges. Following this is a 90-minute stop at Breckenridge Ski Resort, where guests can explore the historic downtown area, shop, have lunch on their own, visit museums, stroll along the Blue River, or ride the ski gondola to the resort base during ski season and summer months. On the return trip to Denver, the route passes through the Eisenhower Tunnel at 11,158 feet, one of the highest vehicular tunnels in the world, crossing the Continental Divide again. The tour includes all taxes, fees, and water refills (guests should bring a refillable water bottle). Food, lunch, drinks, and gratuities are not included.
