The Former British Consulate at Takao Cultural Park, located in Gushan District, Kaohsiung City, comprises three sites: the Consul's Residence on the hill, the Consulate Office at the foot of the hill, and the mountain trail. It was the first consulate built by the British government in Taiwan and is the only consulate park in Taiwan that fully preserves both the residence and the office. In 2019, it was upgraded to a National Historic Site by the Ministry of Culture. The best time to visit the Consul's Residence and witness the evolution of Taiwan's colonial-style architecture is from afternoon to dusk, to enjoy the sunset views of Sizihwan.
