The Buenos Aires Palacio Tango Show takes place at the Piazzolla Theater, located inside the General Güemes Gallery. This gallery is a late Art Nouveau building with an interior pedestrian passage connecting Florida and San Martín streets. It was the first skyscraper in Buenos Aires and the first building constructed entirely of reinforced concrete. The show is held in two historic rooms within the Palacio: the Astor Piazzolla Theater and the Carlos Gardel Theater. Both theaters were inaugurated in 1915 and have been carefully restored to preserve their original Belle Epoque style and excellent acoustics. The event lasts four hours and features live musicians, dancers, and vocalists performing classic tango music by composers such as Piazzolla, Pugliese, Gardel, Mores, and Discepolo. Guests may optionally take a tango class before the show at no extra cost; if the class cannot be held, no refund is provided. Dinner is available as an optional addition during the evening, with menus that include vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. Hotel pickup and drop-off can be arranged if selected.
