Overview

This private 2-day tour in Cairo covers key ancient Egyptian sites and Old Cairo’s historic landmarks. On the first day, the tour visits the Giza Pyramids - Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus - and the Sphinx. It includes a 25-minute camel ride around the Giza Pyramids and entrance to the outside areas. The day also covers the tombs and pyramids at Saqqara, the ancient capital Memphis, and its museum, as well as the Egyptian Antiquities Museum, which holds a vast collection of artifacts from ancient Egypt. Lunch is included, and transportation is provided in an air-conditioned minivan with a qualified Egyptologist guide. The second day focuses on Old Cairo, starting with the Citadel of Saladin, an example of Islamic military architecture. The tour continues to the Alabaster Mosque, known for its Ottoman design, the Hanging Church, one of the oldest churches with notable icons and architecture, and the Ben Ezra Synagogue. The day concludes with a visit to the Khan al-Khalili bazaar, which has a history of over 1,000 years. Some additional entrance fees are not included, such as entry to the interior of the Giza pyramids, the Solar Boat museum, and the Royal Mummy Room. Drinks and gratuities are also not included.
