This 3.5-hour hiking tour climbs Lion's Head in Cape Town, offering views of the Atlantic Ocean at sunset or the Hottentots Holland mountains at sunrise. The route includes steep, rocky, and narrow sections starting about halfway up, with two climbs of approximately 3 meters each requiring the use of steel handles and chains, which are only ascended, not descended. During a sunset hike, participants descend in the dark using provided flashlights, while a sunrise hike may start in darkness with flashlights as well. Headlamps are supplied for safe navigation when needed. This trail is less strenuous than Table Mountain but still challenging and has long been popular locally for night hikes during full moon and clear conditions when city lights and night skies are visible.
