Overview

This guided day tour lasts about 7 hours and covers notable sites on Vancouver's North Shore. The tour starts with a drive across the Lions Gate Bridge, which spans the Burrard Inlet and offers views of the Vancouver skyline and Stanley Park. Next, you visit the Capilano Salmon Hatchery located by the Capilano River. Here you can learn about Pacific Salmon lifecycles and see different development stages in the Interpretive Centre, with best viewing times varying by salmon species. After the hatchery, you spend around 90 minutes at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. The main attraction is crossing the 137-meter-long suspension bridge, suspended 70 meters above the river. The park also includes the Cliffwalk, Treetops Adventures, and The Living Forest walkways. Visitors can learn about the area's history at the Story Centre and enjoy the forest canopy and fresh cedar air. The final stop is Grouse Mountain, about 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver. You take the Skyride gondola to the mountain peak, where you have about two and a half hours to explore. Activities include meeting the resident grizzly bears Grinder and Coola, visiting the Theatre in the Sky, and relaxing at Paradise Patio with views over the city. Lions Gate Bridge

Cross the Lions Gate Bridge, also called the First Narrows Bridge, which spans the Burrard Inlet. The bridge is a busy waterway for cruise ships, recreational boats, and seaplanes. Enjoy views of Vancouver’s downtown skyline and Stanley Park as you cross.

Cleveland Dam

Visit the Capilano Salmon Hatchery on the Capilano River. Spend about 40 minutes learning about the lifecycle of Pacific Salmon in the Interpretive Centre. See different stages of salmon development before the juveniles are released into the river. Depending on the season, you might see mature salmon returning, with Chinook adults visible in October to November, Coho adults from June to November, Steelhead adults in March to April, Coho juveniles year-round, and Chinook juveniles from March to May.

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park

Visit the Story Centre to learn about the area's history. Cross the suspension bridge that spans 450 ft (137 m) and is 230 ft (70 m) above the Capilano River. Other activities include the Cliffwalk, Treetops Adventures, or walking through The Living Forest. The surroundings feature tall evergreens and cedar-scented rainforest air.

Grouse Mountain

Travel 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver to Grouse Mountain and ride the Skyride gondola to the summit. Spend approximately two and a half hours enjoying seasonal activities and attractions.
