Overview

This full-day bus tour lasts about eight hours and covers the main sights of Cappadocia around Goreme. The group is limited to 15 people and includes a licensed local guide and an experienced driver. The tour starts with a visit to Uchisar Castle, the tallest rock formation in the region, where visitors can see old caves and pigeon houses and learn about the geological formation of the landscape. After some free time to explore, the tour continues to the Zelve Open Air Museum. Here, visitors walk two trails totaling 420 meters to see rock-carved houses, tunnels, dovecotes, mosques, and several Byzantine-era churches decorated with frescoes. Next is the Özkonak Underground City, one of Cappadocia's largest and best-preserved underground settlements. Visitors explore the network of tunnels, rooms, stables, storage areas, chapels, kitchens, wineries, and ventilation shafts. The tour then stops at Devrent Valley, also called Imagination Valley, to view a variety of naturally shaped red rocks resembling animals and other forms. Lunch is taken in Goreme with about one hour allocated. Afterward, the tour visits Love Valley for panoramic views of the fairy chimneys. Then it moves to Avanos, a town famous for ceramics, where participants can try pottery making themselves. The final stop is Bazaar 54, where there is a carpet weaving demonstration highlighting Cappadocia's role in Turkish carpet production. Included in the price are GST, air conditioning on the vehicle, and the professional guide. Museum entrance fees, lunch, and gratuities are not included.
