The tour begins with a meeting in Goreme about one hour before sunrise. Participants are then driven to the launch site to watch the Discovery Balloons crew prepare and inflate the hot air balloon. The hot air balloon flight lasts approximately one hour and takes place over the valleys of Goreme National Park in Cappadocia. During the flight, the balloon rises up to 6,000 feet, passing near volcanic formations and the fairy chimneys. Up to 150 balloons may be in the air at the same time. After landing, weather permitting, there is an optional visit to Goreme town center where cave houses and hotels can be seen. The total duration of the experience is about three hours. Snacks are provided, and the vehicle used for transport has air conditioning. A flight certificate is given to each participant after the flight. If weather conditions prevent flying, a full refund is offered. This tour is available year-round when weather allows. Children under six years old and pregnant travelers are not permitted to join.
