Overview

Guests board the 75-foot Quetzal catamaran at 9 am in La Romana and sail for about one hour to Catalina Island. The first stop at around 10 am is snorkeling at “The Wall,” where visitors can see a coral reef and various fish species. After snorkeling, the boat sails to the opposite side of the island to a spot called the “Aquarium,” where lunch is served on board. Following lunch, guests have free time on Catalina's beach to relax, snorkel, and observe different fish before departing at about 3 pm to return to Bayahibe. On the return trip, the catamaran cruises along the Casa del Campo coast, with live commentary from a national guide. The day concludes with a river cruise up the Chavon River, noted for its jungle scenery featured in several films. This small-group boat tour lasts about eight hours and includes snorkeling with guides, lunch, unlimited beer, rum, soft drinks, snacks, live commentary, and hotel pickup and drop-off depending on the selected option. The Quetzal catamaran features six cabins, five bathrooms, a bar, an outdoor lounge, music speakers, and WiFi. The schedule is designed to avoid tourist crowds.
