Overview

This full-day bus tour lasts about 11 hours and starts in Paris with round-trip transport in an air-conditioned minivan. The tour visits the Champagne region, including walking through vineyards of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes to learn grape-growing and harvesting methods. Participants stop at two wineries for a total of six Champagne tastings. At the Nicolas Feuillatte Champagne house, visitors tour the facility and sample three glasses of Champagne. The tour also includes a guided visit to Hautvillers Abbey, where Dom Perignon lived, and a visit to his gravesite. Next is a visit to the Gothic-style Reims Cathedral, with historical commentary followed by some free time to explore and take photos. The day continues in Epernay, known as the capital of Champagne, where there is an hour of free time for lunch (not included). Later, the group visits the Champagne DOMI winery to meet the winemaker Stéphane, who explains the Champagne-making process and offers three to four tastings. Depending on the day, there may be an additional visit to another small Champagne producer. An expert local guide leads the tour throughout. Tips and lunch are not included.
