The highlight of this five-hour cooking class in Chiang Mai is preparing six Thai dishes of your choice under the guidance of an experienced chef. The day starts with hotel pickup within 3 kilometers of Chiang Mai downtown, followed by a visit to a local fresh market where participants select ingredients and observe how locals shop and prepare food. Next, the group visits an organic farm and kitchen garden to see and taste various herbs, vegetables, and fruits used in Thai cooking. The cooking session takes place in an open-air kitchen surrounded by the atmosphere of Chiang Mai’s old town. Participants learn to make six dishes from categories including stir-fried, soup, curry paste, curry, salad, and dessert, along with a demonstration of how to cook sticky rice. Options accommodate vegetarian, vegan, spicy, or non-spicy preferences. After cooking, the meal is served in a bamboo hut styled in a local fashion. The class includes fresh coffee, herbal drinks, a welcome snack or seasonal fruit, and a recipe book to take home. Transportation is provided free within the 3 km radius, and a daily photo album is shared on Facebook.
