Overview

This full-day tour in Northern Thailand combines hiking, river tubing, and waterfall activities with wildlife viewing. The journey begins with a pickup from your Chiang Mai accommodation followed by a 1.5-hour drive through the Mae Taeng countryside to the jungle base camp called Tubing Chiang Mai. After changing into trekking clothes and a safety briefing, the group sets off on a guided hike lasting about three hours. The trail passes through forest and bamboo groves alongside a gentle stream, ending at Tard Mok Waterfall, where there is time to rest and take photos. The group then returns to base camp for a freshly prepared local lunch and a break. Next is a 90-minute river tubing experience along the Mae Taeng River, drifting past areas where elephants and water buffalo sometimes bathe. Wildlife sightings are possible but not guaranteed. Following this, guests choose between two final activities lasting about 40 minutes: a short walk to Saa Gee Waterfall for a natural rock slide and swim, or observing elephants in their natural environment without riding or feeding. The day ends back at base camp with a hot shower, hot tea, and light snacks before returning to Chiang Mai with drop-off around early evening. The tour includes life jackets, towels, drinking water, tea and coffee, a local English-speaking guide who is a former elephant caretaker, first aid-certified staff, an air-conditioned minivan for transport, a welcome lemon soda, and travel accident insurance.
