Overview

This full-day bus tour lasts about 12 hours and begins with a visit to Valladolid, a colonial town where guests walk around the main square and see the Catholic church with two bell towers built in the 1700s. After this, the group travels to a cenote where they can swim in the underground freshwater sinkhole and use the facilities such as restrooms and dressing rooms. A Mexican buffet lunch with vegetarian options is served at the cenote’s restaurant, followed by a tequila tasting hosted by the local community. The final stop is Chichen Itza, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visitors take a guided tour of the archaeological complex, including the ball court, the Pyramid of Kukulcan (also known as El Castillo), and the Temple of the Warriors. The guide explains the history and significance of the pre-Hispanic city built by the Mayan Itza in the 12th century. After the guided portion, guests have free time to explore the site on their own. The tour includes hotel pickup or a meeting point option, transportation in an air-conditioned vehicle via toll roads, admission to Chichen Itza (tax included only in the All-Inclusive option), tequila tasting, and access to the cenote and its facilities. The buffet lunch is included only in the All-Inclusive option. The Chichen Itza entrance tax, life vest and locker rental for the cenote, and drinks (except one drink in the All-Inclusive option) are not included. The itinerary and language groups may vary, and if Valladolid is closed, extra time is added to other stops.
