Overview

This four-hour tour in North Goa District begins with a ferry crossing over the Mandovi River to Divar Island, the second largest of seven islands in the river. Divar Island is about six kilometers long and three kilometers wide, served by four ferry routes. Upon arrival, visitors can observe locals fishing along the riverbanks. The tour includes visits to several old temples and churches, as well as Indo-Portuguese style houses connected by winding roads. The island’s rural landscape features extensive paddy fields and small hillocks that provide views of the Mandovi River. Throughout the tour, the guide shares information about the island’s historical, social, and cultural background, presenting the chronicles and echoes of Divar Island’s past and present. This tour is offered by Make It Happen. Transportation on the island is not provided; visitors must use their own vehicle to move around, as this is not a walking tour.
