Overview

Cinque Terre is a group of five fishing villages along Italy’s Ligurian coast known for their colorful houses and seaside views. This small-group or private day tour from Florence visits three villages over about 10 hours. The tour operates in two formats: a small group capped at eight passengers or a private option for your party only. The trip includes air-conditioned minivan transport and an English-speaking driverguide who provides general information during transfers. From November to March, the itinerary covers Manarola, Vernazza, and Corniglia, with train travel between Manarola and Vernazza. From April to late October, the tour visits Manarola, Vernazza, and Monterosso, including a shared boat ride from Manarola to Monterosso and a train ride from Manarola to Vernazza. At Manarola, passengers have about 45 minutes to walk through the steep alleys or relax by the harbor with its colorful boats. The boat ride from Manarola leads to Monterosso, the largest village, where visitors spend an hour exploring its old town, medieval tower, castle ruins, and beaches. Vernazza offers two hours to explore its car-free streets, the 14th-century Church of Santa Margherita d'Antiochia, the lively Piazza Marconi, and local shops. The village is also a start point for hiking trails connecting to Monterosso. The tour does not include food, drink, gratuities, or hotel pickup and drop-off. Public boat rides operate only when weather permits, with train or minivan transfers as alternatives. Child seats can be requested in advance for children under regulatory limits. Comfortable shoes are advised due to the village terrain and walking involved.
