The tour then visits the Palace of Tears, the former crossing point between East and West Berlin, where families were separated after the Berlin Wall was built in 1961. The final 30 minutes follow the route of the Berlin Wall, explaining the two-wall system with the Death Strip in between and sharing stories of people who died trying to cross it.
