Overview

This full-day tour departs from the Waikiki area and lasts approximately nine to eleven hours. It includes visits to all four main Pearl Harbor memorials and museums with all admission fees covered. The tour begins at the Pearl Harbor Historic Sites Visitor Center, where visitors spend about two hours exploring exhibits and watching a 23-minute documentary about the December 7, 1941 attack. Afterward, guests board a U.S. Navy-operated boat for a ten-minute ride to the USS Arizona Memorial. Here, visitors can view the sunken battleship below through the open-air structure and see the Remembrance Wall listing the 1,177 crew members who lost their lives. The next stop is the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum and Park, where admission and a narrated headphone set are included for a visit lasting about an hour and a half. The tour then continues to Ford Island for a guided deck tour of the Battleship Missouri Memorial, known as the “Mighty Mo,” with about two and a half hours allotted. There is an optional no-host lunch break at the nearby Laniakea Cafe. Additional stops at Ford Island include the USS Oklahoma Memorial, a land-based site honoring over 400 servicemen lost during the attack, with a brief visit of about 15 minutes. Following this, the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum is visited, with admission included but excluding the flight simulator, for approximately an hour and a half. The bus then travels to downtown Honolulu for a 45-minute narrated tour covering the city’s history and modern life. The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, located in Punchbowl Crater, is next, where visitors see rows of white headstones and views of Honolulu landmarks. The tour concludes with brief visits to Iolani Palace, the only royal palace in the United States, where visitors learn about Hawaii’s last monarchs, and views of the King Kamehameha Statue, Aliʻiolani Hale, and Kawaiahaʻo Church, with commentary on their historical and cultural significance. The tour includes air-conditioned transportation, pick-up and drop-off in the Waikiki area, and all entrance tickets provided by the guide on the day of the tour. Lunch, gratuities, and bag storage fees are not included. Bags and purses are not allowed inside Pearl Harbor but can be stored for a fee. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and maintain respectful silence, especially at the USS Arizona Memorial.
