This white water rafting trip runs on the upper Balsa River near La Fortuna and lasts about five hours. The river features Class 3 and 4 rapids in its northern section, providing a challenging ride. Daily departures begin at 8:30 am with pickup from hotels within 6 km of the operator's office. The tour includes all rafting gear, professional guides, fresh fruit served during the river stops, bottled water, and a clean towel. The rafting session includes breaks for resting and swimming in the river. After the activity, participants are taken to a local restaurant for a Costa Rican style lunch. The group returns to La Fortuna town by approximately 1:30 pm. This tour is suitable for people aged 12 years and older. Souvenir photos can be purchased at the end of the tour. Additional hotel pickups beyond 6 km or extra pickups may incur a charge. A vegetarian lunch option is available if requested when booking. The tour runs regardless of weather, so appropriate clothing is recommended.

Arenal Rafting’s Class IV adrenaline-packed white water rafting adventure is a thrilling rafting experience within the Costa Rican rainforest. For those in good physical condition, we’ll take you for a 15-kilometer ride down the river you won’t forget anytime soon! Stop along the way to rest a bit, do a little swimming, and enjoy some fresh Costa Rica fruit. After white water rafting, we’ll take you to a local restaurant to have a Costa Rica style lunch. Daily tours leave at 9:00 am from La Fortuna for our Class IV White Water Rafting Adventure and include roundtrip transportation from local La Fortuna hotels, all equipment, guides, fruit on the river, towels & local lunch. This tour is appropriate for anyone 12 years and older.
