Overview

The Cotswolds have long attracted visitors with their distinctive limestone villages and market towns. This day tour covers the northern Cotswolds, starting from either Stratford-upon-Avon or Moreton-in-Marsh. The group travels by Mercedes minibus with up to 16 passengers and is led by a local driver-guide who shares stories about the region along the way. The tour lasts about seven hours and fifteen minutes. It begins with pickups at Stratford-upon-Avon town centre at 8:50 AM or Moreton-in-Marsh rail station at 9:30 AM. From there, the group heads to Dover's Hill for a viewpoint stop to see the surrounding countryside and hear about local traditions. This stop may be cancelled in bad weather due to muddy conditions. Next is a visit to Chipping Campden, a historic market town with time to explore independently using provided maps. After driving past Broadway Tower, the tour visits a lesser-known village off the main roads for roughly 30 minutes. Following this, the group spends over an hour in Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest town in the Cotswolds, with options for shopping and lunch (not included). The tour then proceeds by back lanes to Bibury, a small village once called "the prettiest in England". The final stop is Bourton-on-the-Water, known as the "Venice of the Cotswolds," where stone bridges cross the River Windrush. After about 50 minutes here, the minibus returns passengers to their original pickup points by approximately 5:00 PM at Moreton-in-Marsh and 5:30 PM at Stratford-upon-Avon. The guide provides souvenir booklets with maps and photos, and the vehicle is a spacious 16-seater Mercedes minibus.
