Overview

This full-day small-group tour from Oxford lasts about seven hours and is limited to seven guests. The tour departs and returns to Oxford Railway Station. A local driver-guide leads the group in a modern, air-conditioned minivan. The itinerary visits several villages and towns in the Cotswolds, offering access to places larger tours cannot reach. The day begins with pickup just outside Oxford Railway Station at 10am. The first stop is Minster Lovell Hall and Dovecote, where visitors can see 15th century ruins and traditional Cotswold stone and thatched roofs. Next, the tour passes through several villages en route to Burford, known as the Gateway to the Cotswolds, where the group can view one of the region’s oldest churches. The longest stop is in Bourton-on-the-Water, often called the Venice of the Cotswolds. Guests have free time here to explore the shops, attractions, and tea rooms, and to have lunch if they choose. The tour then visits Lower Slaughter, a small village accessible only to small vehicles, followed by Stow-on-the-Wold Market Square, where visitors can walk among historic buildings, shops, and pubs. Great Tew is the final village stop, known for its thatched cottages and countryside setting before the group returns to Oxford Railway Station. Food and drinks are not included. Gratuities and hotel pickup or drop-off are also excluded. The tour allows collapsible wheelchairs if accompanied by an assistant. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and the minimum age is five years.
