Overview

This 5-hour jeep tour in Cozumel starts at a central meeting point where the guide welcomes participants and answers any questions. The group then drives to a local tequilera ranch to learn about tequila production and sample different flavors, colors, and aromas. Visitors can also see farm animals such as cows, chickens, and sheep during this stop. Next, the tour heads to the east side of the island to visit Playa Chen Rio, a virgin beach featuring a lagoon where a crocodile named "Ancho" is sometimes seen sunbathing. A natural rock formation creates a shallow swimming area suitable for wading. After the beach, the jeep travels through jungle roads to El Cedral, Cozumel’s first town. Here, visitors see ranch-style homes in the jungle and landmarks including a large palapa used for festivals, a statue called "Los Mestizos," an old Catholic church, and an ancient Mayan temple. The off-road portion begins as the group drives deeper into the Mayan jungle to reach Jade Caverns and Cenote, Cozumel’s largest known cenote. This smaller cenote has winding stairs for entry, and the guide provides information about cenotes and local wildlife, including bats that may be seen hanging inside. After exploring the caverns and cenote, the tour continues to a beach club for a break. Guests receive an authentic Mexican lunch with a choice of chicken, beef, or fish fajitas. Following lunch, snorkeling equipment is provided for a guided snorkel over the nearby coral reef, where clear Caribbean waters offer visibility of various tropical fish species. The beach club also includes access to showers, changing rooms, lounge chairs, and floating toys such as a trampoline. After snorkeling, the group returns by jeep to the original meeting point where the tour began. Included in the tour are private transportation, gas, bottled water, carbonated and alcoholic beverages, lunch, and use of snorkeling equipment. Tips and drinks at the beach club are not included.
