Overview

This six-hour cooking class takes place in a family home in Crete and begins with a welcome drink and introduction. Participants pick fresh vegetables from the family garden before learning how to prepare traditional Cretan dishes. The cooking session includes using an old wood-fired oven to prepare recipes while hearing stories about the origins of each dish. After cooking, the group tastes local wines paired with Cretan cheese varieties. The tour continues with a walk through the family house’s themed rooms, where guests learn about traditional Cretan weaving and view historical artifacts reflecting life in past centuries. The setting offers views of both the sea and nearby mountains. The experience concludes with a shared dinner of the freshly prepared food accompanied by Cretan wine. Transport is provided in an air-conditioned minivan or minibus, and participants receive recipes, photos by email, and commemorative gifts. Aprons and cooking utensils are supplied for the class.
