Overview

This 6-hour cruiseline excursion begins with pickup at Colon 2000 dock, about 40 minutes after the cruise ship docks. The tour travels by air-conditioned minivan toward Panama City, crossing the Centennial Bridge. During this drive, the guide provides information about Colon, Panama, and the Panama Canal. The minivan does not stop at the bridge, but passengers can take photos of the Gaillard Cut and Pedro Miguel Locks from the vehicle. The next stop is the Miraflores Locks Exhibition Center, where visitors spend about 90 minutes exploring the museum and watching ships being raised 27 meters from the Pacific Ocean to Gatun Lake. Admission to Miraflores Locks is not included. Afterward, the tour continues with a one-hour walking visit through Casco Viejo (San Felipe), the historic district featuring churches, monuments, souvenir shops, and Colonial and Neoclassical architecture. Those unable to walk can remain in the minivan during this part of the tour. The final stop is a drive along Avenida Balboa to view Panama City's modern skyline, which includes some of Latin America's tallest buildings. The tour concludes with transportation back to the cruise port in Colon. Included in the tour are bottled water, a professional guide, transport by air-conditioned minivan, and port pickup and drop-off. Lunch and gratuities are not included.
