This is a stop on the 2-hour tour. The West End Historic District covers 67.5 acres in northwest downtown Dallas, north of Commerce, east of I-35E, west of Lamar, and south of the Woodall Rodgers Freeway. Portions are on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places and designated as a Dallas Landmark District. The far western part belongs to the Dealey Plaza Historic District, a National Historic Landmark related to the John F. Kennedy assassination.

Dealey Plaza National Historic Landmark District

This is a stop on the 2-hour tour. A 15-minute stop at Dealey Plaza, a city park in the West End Historic District, known as the "birthplace of Dallas" and the site of President Kennedy’s 1963 assassination. Thirty minutes after the shooting, Kennedy was pronounced dead at Parkland Memorial Hospital. The Dealey Plaza Historic District was named a National Historic Landmark on the 30th anniversary of the assassination to preserve the plaza, street rights-of-way, and buildings visible from the assassination site identified as witness or possible assassin locations.
