Overview
This boat tour from Dingle offers about 6 to 7 hours exploring Dingle Bay and the Great Blasket Island. The tour departs from Dingle Marina around 11 am, with times subject to confirmation the day before. Passengers board a Redbay RIB called the Peig Sayers Stormforce 11, which has a 12-seat indoor cabin for comfort and protection from the weather. The group is limited to 12 people for a relaxed pace. The tour begins with a 1.5-hour eco-cruise around the Blasket Islands, including views of Fungie the dolphin, caves, rock formations, and local marine birds and wildlife. The boat travels along Dingle’s coastline and out into deeper waters where there are often whales, dolphins, porpoises, and sea birds. Around 12:30 pm, passengers land on the Great Blasket Island by transferring into a smaller dinghy. They have 3.5 to 4 hours on the island to explore the abandoned village and northern shore, noted for grey seal activity. The return trip leaves the island at about 4 pm, arriving back in Dingle between 5:30 and 6 pm. Binoculars are available on board. Passengers must bring their own lunch.
