by Dingos K'gari Adventures
Fraser Island, also known as K'Gari, is the largest sand island in the world with diverse landscapes including lakes, creeks, and rainforests. This three-day 4WD tag-along tour starts from Rainbow Beach, where participants receive training on driving a 4WD on sandy beaches and island tracks. Travellers follow an experienced guide in a lead vehicle to navigate safely to key locations on the island. Over the course of the tour, the group visits various natural sites within the World Heritage-listed island. Evenings are spent at a beachside campsite equipped with toilets and showers, where guests stay in permanent twin-share tents designed to be dingo-proof. The campsite also includes large undercover kitchens powered by solar energy for charging devices. Meals provided include breakfast, lunch, and dinner throughout the tour. The tour includes all camping and vehicle permits as well as return ferry transfers. Fuel for the 4WD vehicles and all camping gear such as foam mats, sleeping bags, and pillows are supplied. This self-driven adventure combines guided navigation with personal driving experience, offering an extended time to explore the island’s main highlights with safety and support.
